On the SIXTH day of wellness my blogger gave to me... "a tip about sharing and giving"
Today's Tip (Day 6):
"Tis the season, but don't forget the reason!"
Put your Cheer in Gear!
We are celebrating the season for giving SO why not make some time to do something for someone else. I know many of us are feeling the squeeze in our wallets these days. While it may be tough, keep in mind there are others struggling just as much, or perhaps more. Giving doesn't necessarily have to be painful to your wallet. Whether it is your local food bank, charity event or neighborhood center, volunteering some of your time will not only help your community members, but it will also remind each of us what we have to be grateful for this season. And don't forget, a simple hello, a smile or wish for happy holiday season is a great way to make someone's day and spread some holiday cheer!

Some Tips to Give the Gift of Kindness and Help Spread Holiday Cheer:
- Donate to or volunteer for your favorite charity or organization
- Hold a door for someone when entering or exiting a room
- Give a coworker a compliment
- Take a friend out to dinner
- If you have a coupon that you're not using pass it along to the person next to you in line
- Call a friend or family member to wish them a happy holiday
- Shovel the snow for your neighbor
- Treat your neighbor to a plate of some of your home baked goodies
- Allow the person with less items behind you in line go ahead of you
- Gather your family and friends to help together (ie: volunteering at a soup kitchen together, collecting food and donating to the food pantry, clean the house of a friend or senior citizen who can use this wonderful treat).
Inspirational Quotes for Today:
Whether one believes in a religion or not, and whether one believes in rebirth or not, there isn't anyone who doesn't appreciate kindness and compassion. -The Dalai Lama
Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness Kindness in giving creates love.
Lao-Tzu
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. -Leo Buscaglia
