          "Don't delay....schedule an appointment today!"
 
"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound in cure"


Keep your health in check by utilizing recommended guidelines for preventive services. The guidelines outline various screening exams and frequency of testing needed to maintain health and wellness, based on gender and age. One of the most important things you can do for your health is to schedule preventive checkup's.  Preventive checkups may also be referred to as an annual exam, health maintaince exam or wellness exam. You and your physcian can determine exams based on your personal and family health history.

Recently there has been some controversey over mammography guidelines recommended by the U.S. Preventive Task Force. If you read my posts in November you would see that although I do agree with many of the recommendations, I have not updated this recommendation list to reflect the new mammography guidelines. With this said, please keep in mind, it is the responsibility of each individual phsyician and patient to determine whether these services are appropriate for you.

For brevity, we have chosen the most common screening recommendations for Adults only. For a complete list of recommendations for infant, adolesence and/or adult check with your health insurance provider for guidelines and covered benefits. I have also included a link for additional information which can be found online for
women , men and about recommended vaccination schedule.

An important step you can take to prevent illness and disease is to reduce risk factors. Healthy lifestyle habits such as stopping smoking, tobacco use, increasing phsyical activity and eating a healthy diet can lead you in the right direction!
